Cloud Administrator (Microsoft Azure)

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Cloud Administrator with strong expertise in Microsoft Azure to manage, optimize, and secure our cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining high availability, enforcing security policies, reducing operational costs, and ensuring robust backup and recovery strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Infrastructure Management

Deploy, manage, and monitor Azure-based infrastructure and services.
Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of cloud environments.
Perform regular system health checks and capacity planning.
Cost Optimization

Analyze cloud consumption and identify opportunities to reduce operational costs.
Implement cost-saving strategies such as rightsizing, reserved instances, and auto-scaling.
Monitor budgets and usage through Azure Cost Management tools.
Security & Firewall Management

Configure and manage cloud-based firewalls (e.g., Azure Firewall, NSGs, Application Gateway).
Implement and maintain security best practices across Azure services.
Monitor and respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities.
Backup & Disaster Recovery

Design and maintain backup strategies using Azure Backup and Recovery Services.
Perform regular restoration tests to validate data integrity and recovery readiness.
Ensure compliance with data retention and disaster recovery policies.
Access Control & Identity Management

Manage user roles, permissions, and policies using Azure Active Directory (AAD) and RBAC.
Enforce least privilege access and governance policies.
Handle identity lifecycle management including onboarding/offboarding.
Change Management

Implement structured change management processes for cloud environments.
Review, approve, and track infrastructure changes in alignment with IT policies.
Maintain documentation of all changes, configurations, and procedures.
Monitoring & Automation

Set up monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics) for performance and alerts.
Automate repetitive tasks using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or ARM/Bicep templates.
Optimize operational efficiency through scripting and automation.
Required Skills & Qualifications

Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (IaaS, PaaS services).
Experience with Azure Firewall, NSGs, VPN Gateway, and security best practices.
Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions in Azure.
Proficiency in Azure Active Directory (AAD) and role-based access control (RBAC).
Experience in cost optimization strategies and tools.
Familiarity with change management frameworks (ITIL preferred).
Hands-on experience with monitoring and logging tools.
Scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Azure CLI, or equivalent).
Understanding of networking concepts (VNETs, subnets, DNS, load balancers).
Preferred Qualifications

Azure certifications such as:
Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
Experience with infrastructure-as-code (ARM templates, Terraform, or Bicep).
Knowledge of compliance and governance frameworks.
