Overview

In 2008, the Government of Kerala has decided to spread IT parks to the major potential districts in Kerala. The idea was to spread the reach of IT to every city in the State. As part of this strategy, Govt. has adopted a Hub and Spoke model of IT park development. At Infopark, the location Kochi is considered as the hub and decided to set up IT parks in the neighbouring districts of Kochi within a reach of 45 minutes from the Infopark Kakkanad location. Infopark Thrissur, located at Koratty in Mukundapuram Taluk of Thrissur district is the first spoke campus under this model. Located midway between the two main cities of the State, Kochi and Thrissur, the campus is strategically placed in the IT map of the State. Just 20 minutes drive from the Kochi International Airport, the Park has good proximity to all the places and good access through all modes of transport, road, rail and air.

Kerala State IT infrastructure Limited (KSITIL) is the principal developer of the Project and Infopark acts as a Co-developer here for creating IT Buildings and other infrastructure. Total area of the park is 30 acres of which 18.5 acres has been notified as a sector specific Special Economic Zone by the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India. This campus became operational in 2009 October by renovating few of the old villa type structures existed in the land.

The land belonged to another spinning mill industry, handed over to Infopark by Govt. of Kerala for setting up of IT Parks in 2008. Infopark completed the renovation of villas in a record time of 8 months to suit the IT Business needs and became operational by October 2009. The villa structures comprising a total of 12 acres of land which falls in Non SEZ. Villa structures were given the names of trees was suitable for Start-ups and SME space requirements. Later in 2013, Infopark started construction of a Multi-storeyed IT building to accommodate the increasing requirements of space from companies. The new Building named ‘INDEEVARAM’ with a total of 3.3 lakhs sq.ft built-up area got developed in the SEZ land and completed by 2016.

As of 2020 the campus has 45 IT companies functioning in various buildings and 1500 professionals employed. More activities are in pipeline for the remaining land including commercial developments through partnership with Private players in the coming years.

Own Projects

Infopark adopted a different model of IT buildings in this campus.Initially the old villa type structures existed in the land got renovated and made the campus operational in a recored time of 8 months by October 2009. 10 villas with atotal area of 42,000 sq.ft got renovated and were given the names of trees like ‘MANADARAM, CHEMBAKAM, ASHOKAM, Nisagandhi, Devadaram etc. All these villa structures fall under the Non SEZ area of the campus. Plug and play options starting from 300 sq.ft up to 10700 sq.ft options available in these structures. The villa spaces was ideal for start-up and SMEs who looks for smaller layouts and less CAPEX. Within few years, the villa spaces got fully fully occupied and to meet the increasing demand for space at the location, Infopark started construction of a Multi-storeyed IT Building named ‘INDEEVARAM’ to accommodate more companies under the SEZ.

INDEEVARAM is the first multi-storeyed IT Building named in the Koratty campus of Infopark. This Building having a super built-up area of 3.3 lakhs sq.ft in Basement + Ground + 6 Floors. Located inside the Special Economic Zone notified area (SEZ).

At Koratty campus of Infopark, Government has invested for the initial development of the IT Buildings and other support infrastructure. More land parcels are available for the future development of the campus. Infopark will invite Private Infrastructure developers for the building of more IT Buildings and other facilities in the campus.

Infopark offers land for setting up of exclusive IT campuses of the Companies. Approx.12 acres of land parcels area available on lease for setting up of Campuses.

Electrical System at Infopark Thrissur
For INDEEVARAM IT Building

The power requirement of ‘Indeevaram’ building is met from 11KV substation owned and operated by Infopark. The capacity of substation is 3.5 MVA. This 11KV substation is fed through One (1) No. dedicated 11KV feeder from 66 KV substation of Kerala State Electricity Board.

Further, In ‘Indeevaram’ building Infopark provided 100% power back up using DG sets of adequate capacity. Details furnished below.
