Software Test Engineer

We are looking for a detail-oriented and dedicated Junior Software Test Engineer to join our Quality Assurance team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our software applications, with a primary focus on microservices-based applications and API-level testing.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in manual testing, experience in API endpoint verification, and basic knowledge of banking and financial domain workflows. Prior exposure to BFSI applications is desirable.

Responsibilities :
∙ Test Documentation: Design, develop, and execute test cases and test scenarios based on functional and technical requirements.
∙ API & Microservices Testing: Perform end-to-end testing of REST APIs and microservices, including request/response validation, status code checks, payload verification, and business rule validation.
∙ Defect Management: Identify and report functional defects and edge cases by performing detailed exploratory testing across interconnected services.
∙ STLC Execution: Manage the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), from requirement analysis to test closure.
∙ Backend Validation: Validate backend processing and data consistency where required, including basic database-level verification.
∙ Collaboration: Work closely with developers and product owners in an Agile environment to ensure timely and quality delivery.
∙ Reporting: Maintain test execution records and defect reports and provide regular test status updates.

Required work experience
∙ Manual Testing: Strong knowledge of manual testing concepts, test case design, and functional testing best practices.
∙ API Testing Knowledge: Hands-on experience in API verification, including REST API testing, JSON response validation, and negative/edge-case testing.
∙ STLC Knowledge: Good understanding of STLC phases and their integration with the SDLC.
∙ Domain Understanding: Basic knowledge of banking or financial systems, such as loans, payments, accounts, and transaction processing.
