Database Administrator
We are looking for a SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) with 2–4 years of experience to manage and support Microsoft SQL Server environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in database administration and practical experience in log shipping, performance tuning, backups, CDC, data migration, and manual failover procedures.
Responsibilities :
• Install, configure, and upgrade Microsoft SQL Server
• Configure log shipping and troubleshoot synchronization issues to ensure data is consistently transferred between primary and secondary SQL Server instances.
• Perform manual failover in log shipping scenarios during planned maintenance or unplanned outages.
• Develop and manage backup and recovery strategies for Point in time Recovery.
• Monitor and optimize database performance using native tools and performance tuning techniques.
• Hands-on experience with performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing
• Implement and monitor Change Data Capture (CDC) to support data replication and auditing
• Troubleshoot locking, deadlocks, and long-running queries to improve database performance and ensure smooth operations
• Maintain accurate documentation for database procedures, environments, and failover steps.
Educational qualification :
B.TECH/MSC/MCA
Required work experience:
1. 2–3 years of experience to manage and support Microsoft SQL Server environments
2. Ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in database administration and practical experience in log
3. Configure log shipping and troubleshoot synchronization issues to ensure data is consistently transferred between primary and secondary SQL Server instances
Must have technical skills:
1. Hands on experience on Installation, Configuration, Maintenance and troubleshooting of MSSQL instances across various environment.
2. Expertise in Backup and Recovery Strategies
3. Understanding and implementation of database security principles including user access management, data encryption, Security Audits.
4. Proficiency in SQL and T-SQL Concepts
Good to have technical skills:
1. Ability to perform performance tuning and query optimization.
2. Knowledge of database upgrades, patching, and migrations
3. Familiarity with High Availability and Disaster Recovery Solutions.
