Integration Engineer

Role Summary
The Integration Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, supporting, and monitoring healthcare integrations between HIS, RIS, LIS, medical devices, and national healthcare platforms. The role ensures reliable data exchange, interface availability, troubleshooting, and compliance with healthcare interoperability standards.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain Mirth Connect interfaces.
Manage integrations between HIS, RIS, LIS, PACS, and third-party systems.
Support national healthcare integrations and government platforms.
Develop and maintain HL7, FHIR, XML, JSON, SOAP, and REST API integrations.
Monitor interface performance, queues, and message delivery.
Investigate and resolve integration of incidents and data synchronization issues.
Perform root cause analysis for failed transactions and interface outages.
Coordinate with application, infrastructure, and vendor teams during troubleshooting activities.
Manage interface deployments across Development, UAT, and Production environments.
Maintain interface documentation, mapping documents, and support procedures.
Participate in on-call support and production issue resolution.
Ensure compliance with security, audit, and healthcare data standards.
Technical Skills
Strong experience with Mirth Connect (NextGen Connect).
HL7 v2.x message standards (ADT, ORM, ORU, SIU, DFT).
FHIR APIs and healthcare interoperability standards.
REST APIs and SOAP web services.
XML, JSON, XSLT, JavaScript.
Healthcare integration, troubleshooting and message analysis.
Interface monitoring and queue management.
Understanding RIS, LIS, PACS, and HIS workflows.
Linux server administration basics.
Healthcare Domain Knowledge
Laboratory workflows and LIS integrations.
Radiology workflows and RIS/PACS integrations.
Patient registration and ADT processes.
Order and result management.
National healthcare platform integrations.
Healthcare data privacy and security requirements.
Soft Skills
Problem-solving and troubleshooting.
Documentation and knowledge transfer.
Incident management and root cause analysis.
Preferred Certifications
Mirth Connect / NextGen Connect experience.
HL7 Fundamentals.
