Senior Backend Engineer / Lead (.NET & Azure) – Job Description

Job Title: Senior Backend Engineer / Lead (.NET & Azure)
Work Mode: Remote
Working Hours: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Experience: 10+ Years
Availability: Immediate Joiners Preferred

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Backend Engineer / Lead with strong expertise in .NET, Microsoft Azure, SQL, Database Management, and Backend Development** to join a long-term client engagement with a very large organization.

The ideal candidate should possess strong software engineering fundamentals, excellent problem-solving and communication skills, and proven experience in designing, developing, and delivering large-scale, complex backend systems. The candidate should have technical capabilities aligned with Microsoft IC64-level expectations and be comfortable taking ownership of complex technical projects.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Backend Development & Architecture

* Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance backend applications using .NET technologies.
* Build and maintain robust APIs, services, and backend components.
* Develop scalable architecture capable of supporting large-scale and complex business applications.
* Ensure high standards of code quality, performance, security, and maintainability.

2. Microsoft Azure & Cloud Development

* Design, develop, deploy, and manage backend applications and services on Microsoft Azure.
* Utilize Azure services and cloud technologies to build scalable and reliable solutions.
* Work with cloud-based architectures and contribute to the modernization and optimization of existing systems.
* Troubleshoot and resolve complex application and cloud infrastructure-related issues.

3. SQL & Database Management

* Design, develop, and optimize SQL databases and backend data solutions.
* Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database operations.
* Ensure database performance, scalability, reliability, and data integrity.
* Identify and resolve database performance bottlenecks and other complex issues.

4. Technical Leadership & Project Delivery

* Lead and contribute to the design and delivery of large-scale and complex software projects.
* Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering team members when required.
* Take ownership of technical decisions, architecture, and implementation approaches.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and technical teams to ensure successful project delivery.

5. Problem Solving & Engineering Excellence

* Apply strong software engineering principles and best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
* Analyze complex technical challenges and develop effective, scalable solutions.
* Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and engineering best practices.
* Continuously improve application architecture, performance, reliability, and maintainability.

6. Collaboration & Communication

* Work effectively with distributed teams in a remote working environment.
* Communicate technical concepts, solutions, risks, and project updates clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Collaborate with product, engineering, and other cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Qualifications & Skills:

* 10+ years of experience in Backend Development and Software Engineering.
* Strong expertise in .NET and backend application development.
* Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure.
* Excellent knowledge of SQL and Database Management.
* Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, and backend engineering principles.
* Experience designing and delivering large-scale, complex software projects.
* Strong software engineering fundamentals.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
* Ability to work independently and take ownership of complex technical deliverables.

Preferred Candidate:

* Experience working with leading product-based companies or large technology organizations.
* Master's degree in Computer Science or other STEM fields.
* Technical capability aligned with Microsoft IC64-level expectations.
* Proven experience in leading or contributing significantly to complex, large-scale engineering projects.
* Candidates who are **immediately available or have a short notice period** will be preferred.
