Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Java Team Lead with 12+ years of experience and strong leadership qualities to manage our development team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and team management skills, with proven experience leading a team of at least 10 members. You will own the technical direction and delivery of Java-based applications — from architecture and design through implementation, testing, deployment, and documentation — while providing technical leadership, mentorship, and people management within the team.

Responsibilities:

Lead, manage, and mentor team members Java developers, overseeing performance, growth, and delivery quality
Own end-to-end architecture, design, and technical strategy for Java/J2EE and Spring Boot–based applications
Translate business requirements from Strategy, Sales, and Trading stakeholders into scalable technical solutions
Manage the full software development lifecycle from concept to production release
Remediate bugs, defects, and functional non-conformities across custom applications
Implement and prioritize change requests for functional modifications and enhancements
Drive automation initiatives and tooling to improve development efficiency
Oversee code quality through reviews, standards enforcement, and best practices
Manage cloud capabilities including monitoring, updates, and product lifecycle management
Ensure systems are robust, reliable, and maintainable through unit testing, CI/CD, and automated monitoring
Act as the primary technical point of contact with stakeholders, managing expectations and reporting on delivery
Troubleshoot and resolve critical system/production issues as needed

Competence Requirements:

Proven experience as a Java Team Lead or similar senior leadership role, with 15+ years overall experience
Demonstrated experience managing teams of 10+ developers
Strong expertise in Java, J2EE, and Spring Boot; familiarity with microservices and REST APIs
Solid understanding of design/architectural patterns and relational databases (SQL Server/Oracle/MySQL)
Experience in banking, capital markets, or financial services domain (strongly preferred)
Strong grasp of Agile/Scrum methodologies
Excellent troubleshooting, stakeholder management, and communication skills
