Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior SQL Server Developer to design, develop, optimize, and manage enterprise-level data solutions. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS, and SSRS, along with strong experience in building scalable ETL frameworks, modernizing legacy systems, and delivering high-quality reporting solutions.
This role requires a hands-on technical leader who can drive best practices, mentor team members, and contribute to enterprise data architecture and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Leadership
• Lead, mentor, and guide junior and mid-level developers
• Define and enforce coding standards, best practices, and data governance policies
• Conduct code reviews and ensure quality and performance standards are met
• Provide technical leadership in modernization and cloud migration initiatives
2. Development & Implementation
• Design, develop, and maintain complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects
• Build and manage scalable ETL processes using SSIS
• Develop and deploy interactive and operational reports using SSRS
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security across all solutions
3. Performance Optimization
• Analyze and optimize database performance using execution plans and query tuning techniques
• Implement indexing strategies, partitioning, and data compression
• Monitor and resolve performance issues such as blocking, deadlocks, and resource bottlenecks
• Maintain database health through proper statistics and maintenance strategies
4. Data Architecture & Modernization
• Design and implement robust data integration frameworks
• Modernize legacy ETL and reporting systems into scalable architectures
• Support migration to cloud platforms such as Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Synapse Analytics, and SSIS Integration Runtime (SSIS-IR)
5. Reporting & Automation
• Develop automated, parameterized, and secure reporting solutions
• Manage report deployments and scheduling
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications
• 10+ years of experience in SQL Server development
• Strong expertise in T-SQL, SSIS, and SSRS
• Experience in database design, data modeling, and ETL development
• Hands-on experience in performance tuning and query optimization
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices
• Experience with source control and deployment processes
Preferred Skills
• Experience with Azure Data Platform (Azure SQL, ADF, Synapse)
• Knowledge of Databricks or big data technologies
• Experience with Power BI for data visualization
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
