Business Development Manager
Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving revenue growth by leading the sales function and promoting the company’s services and solutions to prospective clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in selling IoT-led technology services spanning both hardware and software, The along with proven experience in Product Engineering and Software Services sales.Important: Candidates with experience limited only to implementation or support services will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy
Support the development and execution of the sales strategy in alignment with the organization’s business objectives, with a strong focus on expanding the company’s services and solutions footprint. This role requires extensive travel.
Client Acquisition
Identify, engage, and acquire new clients across enterprises and other relevant stakeholder groups.
Industry Network Development
Leverage existing industry connections and build strong relationships within key Merjio use case sectors such as Water & Wastewater, Mining, Cement, Oil & Gas, and similar industries where the company’s solutions can create value.
Team Leadership
Lead, mentor, and manage the sales and lead generation teams to consistently meet and exceed sales targets and key performance indicators.
Domain Expertise
Maintain a strong understanding of the company’s IoT, data science, product engineering, and technology service offerings, while staying current on industry trends, customer needs, and competitor activities.
Client Relationship Management
Build and nurture long-term client relationships, ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, and address concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Market Research
Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities, industry shifts, and emerging trends relevant to the company’s service lines.
Sales Enablement
Develop, refine, and maintain sales collateral including presentations, proposals, case studies, and solution documents to support the sales cycle.
Sales Reporting
Prepare regular sales reports, monitor performance against targets, and provide actionable insights to improve conversion, pipeline quality, and revenue outcomes.
Qualifications
Experience
7-12 years of relevant experience in selling technology services and solutions across multiple industry verticals, with demonstrated success in engaging decision-makers and enterprise stakeholders.
Educational Background
Master’s degree or relevant certifications in sales, marketing, business, or a related field.
Industry Knowledge
Strong understanding of IoT technologies, product engineering services, and software solutions across target industries, including their practical applications and business value.
Relevant Industry Connections
Candidates should have strong professional connections and market access in one or more of Our IOT platform key use case areas, such as Water & Wastewater, Mining, Cement, Oil & Gas, or related industrial sectors.
Sales Leadership
Proven track record of leading and managing sales teams and consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets across North America, Europe, and India.
Product Engineering Services Background
Candidates must come from organizations focused on Product Engineering and Software Services sales, with a proven sales track record in this space.
Client Management
Strong ability to build, manage, and grow enterprise-level client relationships.
Analytical Skills
Proficiency in market analysis, sales planning, and data-driven decision-making.
Communication Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical offerings in a clear, compelling, and persuasive manner.
