Junior QA Engineer

We are looking for a detail-oriented Junior QA Engineer to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of our software products through a blend of manual exploratory testing and automated test execution. You will work closely with developers and product managers to identify bugs, verify fixes, and contribute to our expanding automation suite.

Key Responsibilities
• Test Planning & Execution: Design, write, and execute comprehensive manual test cases based on functional requirements and technical specifications.
• Automation Development: Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium and TestNG to increase regression coverage.
• API Testing: Perform thorough API testing using Postman to ensure backend services are performant and reliable.
• Defect Management: Identify, document, and track software defects using [e.g., Jira]. Provide clear, reproducible steps and collaborate with developers on resolutions.
• Database Validation: Write and execute SQL queries to verify data integrity and troubleshoot issues at the database level.
• Collaboration: Participate in Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups) and contribute to the continuous improvement of our QA processes.
• Version Control: Manage test code and scripts effectively using Git, following standard branching and pull-request workflows.

Technical Qualifications
• Experience: 1–2 years of hands-on experience in software quality assurance (Web and/or Mobile).
• Automation Tools: Proven experience with Selenium WebDriver and TestNG (or similar frameworks like JUnit/PyTest).
• API Testing: Proficiency in testing RESTful APIs using tools like Postman or Swagger.
• Databases: Solid understanding of relational databases and ability to write SQL joins and filters.
• Version Control: Working knowledge of Git (cloning, branching, committing, and pushing code).
• SDLC Knowledge: Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and the STLC (Software Testing Life Cycle).
