BigFix Engineer (L2)
Job Designation: BigFix Engineer – Endpoint Tools Management (L2).
Employment Type: Full-time | Onsite.
Experience: 3–5 years in Endpoint/Patch Management Tools.
About the Role:
The BigFix Engineer will administer and maintain the IBM BigFix infrastructure used for enterprise-wide endpoint management and security compliance. This includes managing BigFix servers, relays, and clients; ensuring patch baselines are up to date; troubleshooting agent health; and ensuring all endpoints meet compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage, maintain, and optimize the IBM BigFix Server, Relay Servers, and Client infrastructure.
• Configure and update patch baselines, fixlets, tasks, and site subscriptions.
• Monitor BigFix agent deployment, status, health, and version compliance.
• Troubleshoot client issues related to agent communication, relay selection, and patch failures.
• Manage BigFix WebUI, operator roles, permissions, and RBAC configurations.
• Review dashboards for patch compliance and take corrective actions.
• Coordinate patch deployment cycles with Windows/Linux/Infrastructure teams.
• Generate reports on patching, compliance, software inventory, and vulnerabilities.
• Perform upgrades, apply patches, and maintain platform stability.
• Support software deployment and compliance policies using BigFix.
• Document SOPs, patching procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines.
Required Skills & Experience:
• Strong hands-on experience with IBM BigFix architecture (Server, Relay, Client).
• Experience with patch management across Windows & Linux endpoints.
• Knowledge of BigFix Fixlets, Tasks, Baselines, Action Scripts, and Custom Content.
• Understanding of endpoint compliance, vulnerability remediation, and OS hardening.
• Familiarity with RBAC, AD integration, and role-based permissions.
• Experience coordinating patch cycles in enterprise environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and reporting skills.
• Knowledge of PowerShell, Shell scripting (preferred).
