Data Science Manager

Responsibilities

Managing a team of Data Scientists and Consultants
Pick team members and bring them up to speed on Data Science aspects.
Training junior team members on ETL and Data Science aspects
Be able to contribute to the brand by creating proposals, participating in Pre-Sales activities like client demos, sales pitches etc.
Align with the sales team to educate them on any new developments at the Data Science front.
Responsible for multiple Data Science projects from ideation phase to delivery
Be able to guide junior Data Scientists with day-to-day tasks on Data Science
Present information using data visualization techniques
Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges
Collaborate with engineering and product development teams

Key Skills Required

At least 3 years of experience in team management
Be able to work as an Individual Contributor wherever required
Analytical mind and business acumen
Problem-solving aptitude
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Experience in data mining
Knowledge of cloud technologies is a must
Minimum 8+ years of experience in the Data Science domain is required for the position.
Understanding of Machine Learning and operations research
Knowledge of R, SQL, and Python; familiarity with Scala, Java or C++ is an asset
Knowledge and experience in statistical and data mining techniques: GLM/ Regression, Random Forest, Boosting, Trees, text mining, social network etc.
Experience querying databases and using statistical computer languages: R, Python, SQL, etc.
Experience creating and using advanced machine learning algorithms and statistics: regression, simulation, scenario analysis, modeling, clustering, decision trees, neural networks, etc.
Experience analysing data from 3rd party providers: Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, etc.
Experience with distributed data/ computing tools: Map/ Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Gurobi, MySQL, etc.
Experience on Deep Learning models for audio and visual data analytics
