Linux System Engineer
Experience: 2-3 yrs.
Cloud Platforms: Should have a basic level of knowledge in AWS and Google Cloud services. Azure administration is an added advantage.
OS Platforms: Linux And Windows and should be capable of Troubleshooting L1 and L2 level issues.
Should have a basic understanding of Server Hardening and Optimization Concepts, Server Migrations, Job Scheduling and Automating like Cron Jobs.
Firewall: Should have an intermediate level of skill in Securing the servers with Firewalls, Configuring and Administration of Iptables, CSF, etc.
Networking: Should have basic knowledge of Networking Concepts and TCP / IP.
Databases: Should have basic and advanced administration skills in MySQL, MariaDB Databases and PostgreSQL is an added advantage.
Scripting: Should have basic knowledge of BASH Scripting and Python is an added advantage.
Web Servers: Apache, Nginx. Should have at least an Intermediate Level of Skill in the administration of both.
Containerization: Should have basic knowledge of Dockers and Containers administration. Knowledge in Kubernetes is an added advantage.
Version Control: Should have basic knowledge in GIT concepts and administration.
Deployment Tools: Basic understanding of Jenkins administration is an added advantage.
Monitoring: Should have a basic exposure in Zabbix Administration, Cloudwatch Administration (Monitoring and setting Alarms). Knowledge in Grafana and Prometheus administration is an added advantage.
Backup: Should have knowledge in configuring Backup (Server, Databases, etc). Knowledge of Backup Tools like R1Soft, Barracuda, etc is an added advantage.
Ticketing System: Knowledge in Jira Service Desk Ticketing is an added advantage.
WebHosting Skills: Minimum of Intermediate level of exposure in CPanel/WHM, Plesk Panels, Domain Migrations, DNS Concepts and Troubleshooting, Mail issues and Mail Queue Management, FTP/ProFTP, DirectAdmin, WordPress (Installation, configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting), SSL Certificate Administration, etc
Customer Handling and Communication Skill: Should efficiently Interact with clients to understand their requirements and provide solutions.
