Magento Practice Lead

Position Summary

The Magento Practice Lead will work hand in hand with the Delivery Managers and the Sales team to help develop a strong understanding of the client's needs from a technical perspective.

The activities involve oversee the delivery of all Magento Professional Services projects for the global team and ensure the technical success of all services projects through the definition of quality standards and best practices. You will also manage new business opportunities through the creation of proposals, solutions architecture, level of effort estimates always working closely with global leaders to develop methodology and processes; technical staff training plan; and support and oversight on key projects.

1. Grow and manage a high-performance team of Magento professionals across 3 continents.

2. Support our sales team in growing our Magento-related services revenue by 25% - 50% per year.

3. Ensure high customer satisfaction ratings in the Magento practice

4. Continuously optimize Magento project delivery to be faster, with better quality, and with enhanced capabilities/scalability/robustness.

5. Ensure all team members maintain and obtain Magento certifications to achieve partnership level goals and validate skill sets



Detailed Additional Responsibilities

Able to provide professional leadership, facilitate ongoing professional development, and research

Able to communicate with prospects

Support current clients

Provide Lead and structure for the practice

Identify process improvements, training needs, and practice initiatives

Apply industry knowledge to support the ongoing development of the firm

Proactively collaborate with teams in other countries (India and the US) to drive common, company-wide strategic goals

Support sales/business development

Conduct performance reviews

Actively participate in Adobe and related partner meetings

Promote our Magento thought leadership, marketing content creation, and promoting our practice (e.g. speaking at conferences, contributing to open source)

Oversee building our Magento knowledge base, reusable assets, and documented processes

Experience with Continuous Development/Deployment/Integration design and best practices

Provide insight, lead technical discussions, and effectively communicating with internal and external stakeholders to demonstrate how the Magento solution will be leveraged to meet client business demands

Build complex ecommerce system for clients in a variety of industries, with solutions targeting a variety of customer models including B2B and B2C engagements

Provide oversight to Magento Tech leads and Developers in order for them to complete development tasks successfully

Act as a Magento subject matter expert as it pertains to website architecture and work with cross-functional teams within McFadyen to help resolve any issues

Provide accurate development estimates based on high-level business and/or technical requirements

Lead and mentor Magento developers working on eCommerce solutions

Roughly 50% (80 hours minimum billable utilization expected each month)

Qualifications
8+ years working in a Senior Management or Leadership role
Bachelor’s degree - required

Magento 2 experience - required

Proven experience leading and growing a team of at least 8 direct reports and 10+ indirect reports

Strong understanding of the Magento System Architecture, Design, Theming, Functionality Enhancements, Configuration

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

Able to assess project risks, particularly around resourcing and implementation process

Experience in creating modules (payment, shipping, etc.)

Experience in creating customizable plugins for Magento

Good understanding of Zend framework preferred

Familiar with Composable Architecture, exposure to MACH (Microservices based, API-first, Cloud-native SaaS and Headless) ecosystem

Experience setting up practice will be a big plus

Experience creating collaterals that would help the sales team sell solutions better

Experience managing multiple enterprise-scale client accounts
